Lacey and Michael chose a non-traditional wedding “venue”, and I was all too excited to provide their wedding photography. They were married ON Jennings Randolf Lake in Garrett County, Maryland on a pontoon boat!!!! With Deep Creek Lake so close, there are plenty of places in Garrett County to get married on a boat!!! Who could say no to photographing a bride and groom pledge their love on a beautiful lake? Not me!
Have I mentioned how much I ADORE shooting intimate weddings? They’re my jam. I love these outdoor affairs with only the closest friends and family invited. Total guest list at this wedding was under 15 . 🙂
Lacey is pretty crafty and made all the details herself, flowers, decorations, etc. She even crafted earrings as favors for her guests! They are the cutest little anchors! Seriously, friends, how can you not love this wedding!? Who cares about the rain…. NONE of us.
And then is started sprinkling. We moved the ceremony under the covering on the boat.
And then it began to POUR. Sheets of rain, lighting, and thunder rolled down from the sky. The boat captains got us out of there as quickly as possible. We kept the bride and groom mostly dry, but several of us were drenched from the summer storm.
Once we reached the dock, the rain started to ease up. By the time we drove over to the pavilion for the reception, the rain had stopped. We were able to snap some portraits, and the couple and their guests enjoyed celebrating Lacey and Michael’s first married adventure!
