Blue Moon Rising Wedding Photography at Deep Creek | Kirsten + Dan

Wedding

I’ve photographed at Blue Moon Rising countless times before but it never ceases to capture my heart with every wedding I do. Deep Creek is magical and the forests and atmosphere surrounding this destination location are simply perfect.

Kirsten + Dan are some of the sweetest souls and I’m soooo happy they chose me to photograph their wedding! Everything about this couple was incredibly down to earth and the further you scroll, the more you’ll see what I mean!

The decor for their ceremony and reception were mostly things they had around theirs and their families houses. From wood pieces from Kirsten’s sister’s backyard that were cut by her brother-in-law to old bottles her dad found in the woods, and even her mother’s watering cans!

Kirsten + Dan opted for a first look – something I always recommend! It is a super intimate and great moment that you get to share with ONLY your significant other. It was on their favorite parts of the day.

The bridesmaids dresses were infinity dresses that they bought online, which ended up being absolutely perfect for this forest wedding! The groomsmen rented suits through Generation Tux and were extremely easy to work with.

In addition to the first look, Kirsten + Dan loved their unity tree and that they wrote their own vows. The vibe was so incredible and it they said it really was the best day of their lives!!

Look at how fun this bride is! Kirsten was a blast to be around!

And so was Dan and his groomsmen!

This happy couple live in Hawaii, and so for their honeymoon they stopped in Alaska for a few days. They rented a car that had a pop-up camper on top and cruised around the Kenai Peninsula. They had a beautiful experience in a beautiful place!

Kirsten + Dan say that planning a wedding is difficult because you are walking this line of “I don’t want my friends and family to have to spend too much money” and “I don’t want this wedding to look like trash.” Their advice is to not worry about it and to remember that less is more, especially if you have a beautiful venue.

If you get married outside, basically your decorations are taken care of and most people have stuff around their house you can use for decor. Don’t be afraid to be creative!

It helped that this awesome couple had awesome friends to pitch in with florals and the cake too. Everyone was incorporated in one way or another and I think that’s just amazing!

Kirsten + Dan also want to let other couples who are planning their wedding know that you should just have fun with it! It’s YOUR day. Be YOU!

Thanks you two! I wholeheartedly loved capturing your big day and I wish you all the happiness in the world!
