I’ve photographed many weddings at Chanteclaire Farm in Friendsville, MD and the magic of a wedding day never ceases to amaze me! The weather was perfect for these two lovebirds and their perfect Deep Creek Lake Wedding. I met Chelsey and Josh during their snowy engagement session at Swallow Falls, and let me tell you, they were a tad nervous about photos. That’s COMPLETELY NORMAL! Being in front of a camera is weird, even for many photographers. We chatted. We hiked. We joked. And through that laid-back experience, their nerves about wedding day photographer melted. While I don’t force engagement sessions on my couples, it’s a great trial run! We get to know one another, and you get to experience what it’s like having me and my camera in the middle of your love. When the wedding day rolled around, I jumped right in with the wedding day prep, knowing how to best capture real smiles from Josh and Chelsey.
For Chelsea + Josh, everything on their wedding turned out better than they could have imagined – the pre-wedding boat ride with the groomsmen, the beautiful weather and delicious food, and to end the night: great music and a bonfire! The day goes by so quickly that sometimes you want to relive it just one more time… that’s what photos are for!
Chelsea + Josh’s favorite part about their wedding day was having the opportunity to share their special day with so many friends and family members. I love when couples are so close to their relatives and friends! It makes these momentous occasions all the more special!
This happy newlywed couple went to the Riu Palace Antillas in Aruba (which sounds like the best vacation ever!). I could definitely go for more beach right now!
Are you getting married and in the middle of planning? Chelsea + Josh have a few words of advice: the beginning of the planning stage can seem overwhelming when you first start to look into all the little things that you need to plan for and decisions that need to be made. Start early and work on planning on thing at a time to avoid scrambling to throw everything together last minute. A solid timeline and to-do lists are extremely helpful to ensure that nothing is overlooked.
