The forest is my place to be. It’s calming, wise, wild, and free all at the same time. I think it’s why so many choose to come up to my home to elope. When you’re in the forest, it envelopes you and melts away all the worldly cares. A doe and her fawn may wander into your ceremony, or the wind may whisper gently through the trees. No matter what time of year, it’s magical in the Appalachian forests.
Hannah and Stephen said their I dos with much love and emotion at Savage River Lodge. {Side note: Hannah runs a cool ass plant shop in Sykesville, and I can attest her babies are beauties!} I have several in my home! Their sweet promises to on another were witnessed by myself and Liz their officiant as well as a sweet deer who stumbled upon us. THESE intimate moments are the ooey gooey goodness of life.
Savage River Lodge offers multiple types of stays – cabins and yurts – and a cute little restaurant/bar on site. It’s truly getting lost in the woods without roughing it. 😉
