Whether you choose Iceland for a wedding, elopement, vow renewal, or couples adventure, you’re in for an absolute treat. The country is stunning, food is wonderful, and outdoor exploration abounds. From the National Icelandic Museum to wandering the terrain, the beauty and history was awe-inspiring.
I was alllllll in when Katie asked if I’d be interested in traveling to Iceland. No second thoughts, all HELL YES. Katie and Corey chose an intimate vow renewal, celebrating in front of waterfalls and fjords. We frolicked in fields, found blooming lupine, and felt the spray of the cold ocean.
We hit Reynisfjara Beach covered in black sand and outlined with basalt columns. We even saw puffins jumping from the ledges and fluttering overhead. We continued on our adventure, and there were Icelandic horses running wild on the misty drive along the southern roads. Next stop was Skogafoss – one of the most popular waterfalls in Iceland then the walk behind waterfall called Seljalandsfoss. I’ve seen so many waterfalls in my life but nothing as grand as these ones. We ended with grabbing a gas station hot dog and sharing a drink at a local pub in Selfoss.
