Jennifer and Victor have a love for the Cumberland area as it’s where Victor grew up and Jennifer said yes to Victor’s proposal. They placed importance on including vendors from his small town in their Antrim 1844 celebration. The couple laughed through raindrops as they pledged love to one another then scooted down the aisle and practiced their choreographed dance one last time before formally being announced as Mr & Mrs Scarpelli to their guests.

The gentle and steady love they offer one another brought sunshine to all those around and was heartwarming to witness. The night was full of dancing, genuine toasts, and a warmth that made everyone feel included.

From the couple:

Victor and Jennifer met in 2020 during the pandemic in Baltimore, MD. Jennifer was starting her last year at Loyola University and Victor, a recent Loyola University graduate, was starting his second year at the University of Maryland Law School. Due to COVID closures and restrictions, Victor and Jennifer had to get creative. During this time, the couple spent time in city parks, walking around Mt. Vernon, and developed a love for escape rooms.

After graduating from Loyola, Jennifer enrolled in graduate school at Tufts University in Medford, MA while Victor accepted a position as a law clerk in Hagerstown, MD. For the next 2 years, the couple had to adapt to a long distance relationship. Victor and Jennifer visited each other as often as possible during this time. When they could not be together in person, the couple got together often for virtual movie nights and dinner dates over Zoom. Despite the odds, the couple’s love only grew.

In February of 2023, Victor informed Jennifer that their Valentine’s celebration was going to be a double date. Jennifer was disappointed that they would not be able to spend the evening alone. As the pair got ready for dinner at Mise en Place that night, Jennifer noticed that Victor was acting strangely. However, she was still surprised when Victor proposed in front of their friends (one of whom was a photographer) who were able to capture the moment and provide engagement photos.

Victor and Jennifer were given a recommendation to look at Antrim 1844 as a possible wedding venue by Heather and John, the owners of Mise en Place in Cumberland, MD. The couple fell in love with the venue immediately. On the day of the wedding, rain was imminent, but the venue allowed the wedding to take place outside anyway. It sprinkled for the couple’s vows — they say rain is lucky on your wedding day, and the couple certainly felt lucky that day. Ultimately, the ceremony was lovely, and the couple was married surrounded by friends and family.

Since the wedding, the couple has been back to Antrim a number of times to celebrate the day and enjoy the amazing restaurant. They honeymooned in Spain over the New Year and continue to enjoy life as a married couple.
