Wedding

Blue Moon Rising at Deep Creek Lake Wedding Photography is totally my jam. When Katie and Ryan asked me to be their photographer the answer was YES! Blue Moon is basically like a backyard wedding in the forest except all your friends and family can stay in these cute eco-cabins. It’s like getting married at summer camp, adult-style. Well, as adult as we want to be… 😉

My favorite moment from the big day was Ryan’s emotion overflow to seeing Katie walk down the aisle. His girl was taking those last few steps to becoming his wife, and his love for her radiated. Katie and Ryan both say that was their favorite moment, too.

What threw us all was the flood that rushed through right after the ceremony. We clicked a last few portraits and then it came in sheets. The guests and BMR crew took it in stride, and Katie was the biggest trooper! She told me “I’m a hippie anyway. This is my jam.” And then that sealed the deal – I love them for life. <3

The documentation of this day shows so much of WHY I do this – emotion, excitement, adaptability, and an amazing dance party! Cheers and happy life, you two!

Advice from Katie + Ryan: “Take your time and enjoy the process. It should be a fun journey. And for wedding decor get creative and up-cycle! It will save you money and save mother nature!” I love you both!
