The sun decided it wasn’t going to come out the day of Rebeccah and Kendall’s wedding at Hast Farm near Cumberland, but it wasn’t going to stop these two from being married during a wicked beautiful ceremony. It also wasn’t going to stop me from capturing their perfectly happy and perfectly wet day.
These lovebirds first met in college and are both very sweet and sentimental people – think librarian meets scientist – just my kind of people! They are a perfect match, and what better way to encompass the love and values they share than to marry on a private farm nestled between two wooded hills and beautiful views? They planned the wedding together and worked on the projects hand in hand, including some 3D printer action. I adore that they did this together.
Rebeccah’s mother arranged the centerpieces and fern decor. Isn’t she crazy talented?!?! I know some brides that might want to hire you, mama!
The Scottish feel of this wedding is enough to make anyone excited, especially me since my heritage is deeply rooted in Scotland. My family has traced our ancestry back to the 1200s near Rosshire! Much to my excitement, Kendall had his and his best man’s 8 yard kilts custom made from Scotland in the County Waterford Pattern. I mean, it doesn’t get any cooler than kilts!!!!
R+K took the rain in stride and didn’t let it bother them at all. My kind of couple! It’s about the moments, not the weather. Seriously, the moody fog and drizzle ADDED to the Celtic Highlands feel of their first look and wedding, so it was really just PERFECTION.
Their friends and family are just as sweet and welcoming and surrounded these two with so much love and support. It’s clear these have what it takes and that was ingrained from birth.
After the ceremony, it was time to party! The newly wedded couple had asked their friends for fun ideas and props for their photo booth and were surprised with fun and colorful wigs! Not only did they make for fun photos, but the dance floor became even livelier! I LOVE THIS. Do it, friends. Bring some props. 🙂
I stole these two away for some one on one romance time in the drizzly, moody twilight, and I’d say it was well worth the walk in the rain. Thank you, Rebeccah and Kendall!!! I love you both and am so grateful to have been chosen to capture this special day.
