My favorite weddings happen right in the backyard of my bride and groom! As a Frederick Outdoor Wedding Photographer, I get the chance to shoot these backyard weddings often. This area offers a wide variety of scenic places and homes as well as gorgeous outdoor venues like Springfield Manor Winery, where couples can exchange vows outside. It’s simple. It’s gorgeous. It’s perfect. Using your own home, you get touches of family and togetherness as all work to make an outdoorsy big day happen. Lindsey and David hosted their wedding on a family orchard! A note on light while getting ready: Lindsey chose her home as her getting ready location. There was lots of natural light coming in the windows of her spare bedroom, so we used that location for her getting dressed photos. The more window light, the better. I will come in and turn OFF overhead lighting as it is unflattering and unnecessary if you have proper natural light. Choose a getting ready location with simple decor and colors and lots of windows, and you will have some beautiful getting ready photographs to document your wedding story.

Maybe it’s weird but the outdoor sink was the COOLEST! Genius, guys!
