Although I mostly shoot beautiful wedding photography near Morgantown and Deep Creek Lake, I do travel to capture special love stories. The mountains of West Virginia were the perfect backdrop for this sweet wedding. Josh and Elisha have a special connection and you can see that adoration in the way they look at one another. Josh is my brother, and when I photographed their engagement session I could just tell how much he was head over heels for Elisha.
These two quirky, love birds are just up my alley with personality, and their wedding details reflected their amazing selves. It was intimate. It was beautiful. It involved a Tardis (!!!!!!!) and Thor’s hammer. My kiddos, the ring bearers, carried Pokeballs containing the wedding rings down the aisle.
So, here it is: the wedding I waited over two years for. The smiles on my brother’s and Elisha’s faces tell the WHOLE story. These two definitely “Love Out Loud”, and that’s what this life is all about.
The sun fell into the mountains shortly after the ceremony, creating a gorgeous backdrop for sunset portraits and for their first dance. Josh and Elisha needed minimal “posing” help as they are just naturally in tune with one another and had no qualms with my command for them to “snuggle” in front of the camera. Some couples need more direction from me to get them loosened up, but these two were silly and calm and pure fun to capture. When I directed them to pretend they were sleeping, it involved full out snoring and I’m pretty sure some drool. 😉 Seriously, friends, this is the fun part. Get wild. Get spontaneous. Do what feels right.
And then there was lots and lots of dancing, including that time I taught my family to whip and nae nae. 😉
Words cannot say how lucky I am to have these people as my family. I’m so touched to have been chosen to photograph this important day and love story.
